Main Characters
Adol Christin
Red-haired adventurer and main character of the Ys series, appearing in all games except for Ys Origin. Bold of action and stout of heart, Adol is as easy-going as he is courageous.
The entire Ys series is a retelling of Adol's adventures as recollected in his memoirs. The games, in the overall fiction of the story, are out of order simply because we are playing through them in the order that Adol's memoirs are being found.
We know that Adol was 16 when he first set off on his adventures, and that he ultimately lives to be 63.
Dogi
Adol's stalwart right-hand man and wall crusher extraordinaire, Dogi has been along with Adol on almost all his adventures.
Dogi hails from Redmont in the Felghana region.

Because of Adol's position as the mostly-silent protagonist, side characters frequently get the chance to take center stage and really shine. Dana Iclucia
Games: Ys VIII
Dana Iclucia is Adol's counterpart protagonist in Ys VIII, first appearing to him as a mysterious figure in his dreams. As the game progresses, we learn more about her shrouded past and her important role in the future of the Isle of Seiren.
Feena & Reah
Games: Ys I, II, & Origin
The twin goddesses of the ancient city of Ys. The disappearance and subsequent actions of these two deities spur the events of Ys Origin, I, & II, catapulting Adol into his life of adventure. It is also claimed that Feena is the only woman Adol has ever fallen fully in love with, though there's plenty of discrepancy there.
Dr. Flair Rall
Games: Ys II, Memories of Celceta, & X
Dr. Flair makes his first appearance trapped in a mine in the ancient city of Ys, but ultimately decides to tag along with Adol and Dogi on their adventures.
Geis
Games: Ys VI, Seven, IX
Geis is a dark mercenary who acts as Adol's friend and rival at various points throughout two games: VI and Seven. He makes a cameo appearance at the end of Ys IX.
Griselda
Games: Ys Memories of Celceta & VIII
Griselda is a princess of the Romun Empire, but more importantly serves as the governor general of the city of Celceta during the events of the same game. She appears briefly as a castaway in the 8th installment.
Karja Balta
Games: Ys X
Adol's counterpart protagonist in Ys X: Nordics, Karja Balta is the proud daughter of the Balta Seaforce's jarl. She is referred to as the Pirate Princess, and while her companionship with Adol gets off to a somewhat rocky start, the two ultimately forge a strong bond as shield brother and sister.
Lillia
Games: Ys II
Lillia is the first villager to find Adol after he is mysteriously transported to the land of Ys. She originally played a bigger role in the series, before the two Ys IV games were replaced in the canon by Memories of Celceta.
Raba
Games: Ys I & VI
Raba is a wise man whom Adol first encounters in Darm Tower, helping him avoid some pernicious traps. He later appears, marooned, on Canaan Isle during the events of Ys VI.
Yunica Tovah
Games: Ys Origin
One of three playable characters in Ys Origin, Yunica is certainly a fan favorite. Her rapid attack style and rambunctious nature belie her soft dedication to the twin goddesses Reah and Feena.
